By 2022, Happy Hearts Indonesia has built more than 260 schools in Indonesia. In line with HHI’s mission, we will continue to rebuild more schools for disadvantaged children in Indonesia.

In the same year, from March 21-July 21, 2022, Happy Hearts Indonesia collaborated with Campaign.com and Bank Jago in the challenge “Dukung Kampanye #JagoBerbagi Agar Sekolah di NTT Dapat Dibangun Kembali.” This campaign aims to raise awareness among young people to be more concerned about children’s education in Indonesia, especially in East Nusa Tenggara.

The proceeds from the #JagoBerbagi campaign will be used to rebuild safe and sustainable schools in NTT. We will also provide learning support, sanitation facilities, and training for teachers and school administrators.

Children will also receive separate training such as Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Global Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene (WASH). We ensure that all the schools we rebuild will receive training for sustainable schools.

School Conditions in East Nusa Tenggara

East Nusa Tenggara, also known as NTT, is well-known for the beauty of its natural attractions, such as Komodo Island and Labuan Bajo. However, there is a sad educational story behind the beauty of tourism.

Many children are still not receiving a proper education. The reasons vary as well, whether due to family economic or geographical factors that make it difficult for education to be evenly distributed throughout Indonesia.

SMP di NTT dengan bangunan yang kurang layak

Children in NTT attend school in dilapidated buildings. The school’s walls are woven bamboo, the roof is only covered with thatch, and the floor is asphalt. Learning cannot be carried out optimally due to inadequate school facilities.

With the #JagoBerbagi campaign, schools that are currently in unsafe condition will be rebuilt with a solid foundation, complete with clean toilets. Schools also get furniture, educational toys, and outdoor playgrounds to support optimal learning activities.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the #JagoBerbagi challenge. Your help means a lot to us, no matter how big or small.
