Happy Hearts Indonesia is a non-profit organization that envisions every child in Indonesia has access to education by attending safe and earthquake-resistant schools.

Happy Hearts Indonesia is dedicated to rebuilding schools and restoring hope and opportunity in the lives of children in underprivileged areas. We support local communities in building sustainable and eco-friendly schools and supply them with proper facilities.

Happy Hearts started rebuilding schools in Yogyakarta after the devastating earthquake in 2006. More than 30 schools were built at the time. In 2013, Happy Hearts opened its first international chapter in Indonesia to support the reconstruction of schools impacted by natural disasters. In addition Happy Hearts Indonesia is reaching out to underprivileged communities to receive access to proper education.

In 2016, with the need of a better education and the goal to eradicate poverty, Happy Hearts Indonesia has expanded its support to the islands of Sumba and West Timor of East Nusa Tenggara. Based on our survey, we found schools on the islands left in dangerous condition, without toilet and other sanitary facilities, without tables and chairs and no educational materials. Therefore, we set our focus in restoring hope for more children in East Nusa Tenggara and providing them access to better education through the #IAMCHANGE campaign. Find out more about #IAMCHANGE.
