Jakarta, 12 December 2019 – Happy Hearts Indonesia together with Oxone, Electronic City, and Cook & Bake City organized a baking class for children to nurture them with an interesting learning experience that could help in boosting their creativity. Teaching kids to cook is one way to help children to build their self-confidence, creativity, problem-solving skill as well as develop a teamwork spirit.

Happy Hearts Indonesia invited 31 students from SD Tugu Bakti located in Cilincing, North Jakarta. SD Tugu Bakti is one of the schools that have benefitted from Happy Hearts Indonesia’s school rebuilding program in 2015.

Sylvia Beiwinkler, CEO of Happy Hearts Indonesia said, “Apart from rebuilding schools to improve children’s quality education, we believe that this kind of activity is equally important to improve their learning experience, particularly for their social and emotional development.” As part of Happy Hearts Indonesia’s commitment to improving quality education through progressive learning, the organization hopes this outreach activity can continue.

The cooking class was facilitated by Chef Angelica Halim of Oxone. Chef Angelica taught students how to bake sugar cookies and decorate them with royal icing with a Christmas-themed. Happy Hearts Indonesia’s long-term supporters such as Wanda Ponika, Angel Pieters, Janisa Pradja and Kerenina Sunny attended the afternoon to help out the kids to decorate the cookies

“Cook & Bake City offers a range of cooking classes available for beginners, children, and professionals. We offer classes from cooking to baking cakes completed with professional kitchen appliances and equipment in Electronic City,” said Monica Wirawan, a representative from Electronic City and Cook & Bake City.
